So I have been having this sort of minor problem since we have purchased the machine. There is no way to precisely find "home" on a part with this machine that I am aware of. If I ever have to take something out and put it back in later to rework it we pretty much have to line everything up by eye. This can be incredibly inaccurate at times and can cause trouble when trying to get parts precise.

I know some machines have ways of finding home to set X and Y zero to a part automatically, but unlike the lathes or mills that I am used to running the laser doesn't seem to have a touch off feature.

Does anyone know any methods or techniques that they have developed over the years to assist in finding X and Y zero on a part without using a stop or a jig?
