Hello,
I am sure this is a very simple question, but what does ASME mean when they reference a finished opening? I am analyzing a spherical pressure vessel which is over 3/8 in. thick and has a 10000 lb rated nozzle which is 2 inches in diameter. Section VIII Div 1 UG-36 mentions exclusions for finished nozzles under 2.375 inches in diameter, but the "finished openings" section throws me off a bit.
Thanks in advance for any help (just started my first ME position and I so not yet have a mastery over all the jargon!)
