Hi,
I am modeling a tube-in-tube contact situation using beam elements, ITT elements and a slide line, similar to what is done in this document:
Unfortunately, this combination of elements does not seem to permit finite rotations of the slide line, as all simulations break down after about 45° of rotation. A small example (based on the Abaqus verification example of ITT21) is attached. Could anyone share any experience with this or confirm that the formulation cannot handle rotations?
BR,
Karl
