i need help if somme one have experience with this kind of damage , my quation is how can we determin the damage part by NDT tests
tank you in advance .

If you are talking about a metal frame you may be able to tell if the temper has changed through a conductivity test or by performing a hardness test. If the metal is deformed I wouldn't even bother, it probably needs to be replaced if it's structural. I'd make doubly sure if there are structural adhesive joints that they have not been compromised.

Remember, first define the problem, then solve it.

determining the extent of damage thru the conductivity and hardness test is most important.... i face a similar situation some years back, and wat we couldnot believe was that out of the primary damage area, there was some area, whose tests were Ok, but visual signs of burning (from upholstery and some cargo) was there....

so i would suggest u to be careful in assessing the damage area. use ur own senses and instinct in addition to NDI. probably hardness test was carried out on point with a space of 1 inches (but it has been sme time ago, so i m not that sure)

any fire extinguisher used? it may make the case bad....

all this applies to conventionally riveted structures.....

I would suggest its a cut and repair case provided no extinguisher was used or it caused no effect.....

Why is a fire extinguisher a problem... Can it 'mask' areas of damage by providing a hardened surface?

Thank you all
The damaged area cover 5 frame bay and 8 stringer , all deformed parts identified , the conductivity test already done and revealed that 4 frame end 2 stringer must be replaced , for the skin the conductivity test ok but Airbus request a hardness test , whil performing the skin hardness test i had doupt about the values given by roquell hardness test , the measured values on internal surfaces gives 130 (roquell) the external surface (70 roquell) , my quation what is the hardness of the 2024T42 material , and second quation for the external and internal surface thy have the same hardeness values or diferent values.
Thank you friends.

sorry, but "roquell" = "rockwell" ?

i'm sure that a quick google search will find hardness of Al.

but why ask us, when you're talking to the OEM ?
