Hello everyone

I was designing a sprinkler system for a storage area that has a max height of 10 ft (3m). Before this i have designed various warehouses where height was always more than 20 ft but here i have to refer to NFPA 13(2016 ed) chap 13 wherein i get the OH2 specs for my storage area(class IV on racks). density chosen on curve is 0.2 gpm/ft2 and the total area of my storage is only 1250 sq ft. I want to know any what K factor sprinkler should i use with what discharge pressure with references. I was looking at FM datasheets and from there it seems i will have to take k 14 with 12 sprinklers designed at 50 psi, but this seems very overdesigned to me. Please help clear this out for me. Attached file is the FM data sheet referred.

There is a dedicated NFPA forum (under "engineering codes, standards and certifications) where you will get much better responses I think.

Just post in there and then delete this post (double posts not allowed)

Also: If you get a response it's polite to respond to it.
