I have been searching for the requirement of Fire hose cabinet in IBC & NFPA for so long. I have gone through many threads to get the idea but still there is lot of confusion. I have done some projects wherein I have designed a sprinkler system for buildings less than 9.1m heights and I have not provided any Fire hose cabinet in them as per IBC 905.3.1. But now I have a project which is a site adaptation. The Building is a mosque and was designed by some other consultant. I am wondering why 2 hose valves are provided in this mosque. As per code, this is a light hazard building and the maximum height is 8.8m. I am redesigning it and i am looking if the Fire hose Valves (Not Fire Hose Cabinet) are required by the code.
PLEASE SUGGEST ME WITH EXACT CODE REQUIREMENTS. I HAVE ALSO MADE HYDRAULIC CALCULATIONS. I AM GETTING 200GPM WITH 50PSI DEMAND PRESSURE WITHOUT ANY HOSE. IF IN CASE I PROVIDE A HOSE, DO I HAVE TO REVISE THE CALCULATION TO GET MINIMUM 65PSI AT THE HOSE.
YOUR QUICK RESPONSE IS MUCH APPRECIATED.
