What is the flow and residual head requirement at a fire hydrant?

It varies based on the type of occupancy, etc...typically ranges between 1500-2000 gpm at 20 psi as a minimum

What is the type of construction, the area of the building, and the applicable fire code? This will influence the fire flow. Also, is the structure separated using interior fire walls?

Do you have a copy of the local fire code for your jurisdiction...IFC, UFC, etc??? It is typically spelled out pretty clear in there based on what Stookeyfpe stated? If not, if you give the info that Stookeyfpe stated, then some one here may be able to help..

Mechanicaldup:

If you provide the following information I'll attempt to solve the problem:

A) Is the building in the US and if so what state?
B) What is the type of construction (e.g., wood frame with wood truss, concrete masonry units supporting metal truss, metal structure with spray on fire proofing)?
C) Is the building sprinklered?
D) Is the building compartmentalized by a fire wall?
E) What is the building area?
