We have been offered wood ash (volatile content = 14%) as temporary cover material for our landfill.
State regulations say that temporary cover "must control fires".
Is there any sort of standard test that we can use to demonstrate that the material "controls fires"? I had heard of a possible ASTM, but nobody seems to know.
Alternatively, is there any experience with using this material for that purpose?
