Hi

I just wanted to ask this one here before I put it on the broader "other topics" posting. For fire separating walls in frame construction for town houses, who is responsible for the final sign-off for BCA compliance? Would that inspection be performed by the building certifier or other fire engineering specialist?

"final sign-off" is the certifier, the fire engineer can do an inspection and provide a form 16 for the wall but final is by the certifier. The certifier has the option to accept the engineers form 16 or inspect. Often if the fire wall is of structural nature the structural engineer will also provide a form 16 for the installation.
