We often order ASTM A420 WPL6 butt-weld pipe fittings for low temp service. Lately, we have received fittings from pipe vendors that are only stamped with the heat # and WPL6. There is no A420 designation on the fitting. These are often import fittings (the fittings I looked at were from Taiwan and Austria).

My question is this. Does the WPL6 stamp imply that the fitting was made under ASTM A420 guidelines? I realize that there are different WPL grades for impact toughness, but is the WPL designation specific to A420?

Thanks
