Hi,
Clients DGS prevents the usage of Unions in tubing connecting the manifold and the tracers on the context of leaks. It nearly impossible to route the tubing to the tracer due to rigidity issues with tubing. Please advise on any alternate methods of joining two tubing pieces and leak preventive measure if unions are used.

Otherwise I agree Swagelok have a very good sealing connection system. You need to find out if there is a site standard for one supplier or another and whether it is imperial sized or metric and the connectors look very similar, but are slightly different sized and don't mix!

See also for what appears to be quite a good guide to connectors

By the way what is a DGS? Best not to use abbreviations if you can help it...

thank you for your replies.LITTLE INCH & SNORGY the swagelock did help me. It was decided that compression type unions are to be used only when it was absolutely required. more over Room temperature vulcanizing silicone shall be used to insulate the union.

But i have another question in my mind. is insulating the union mandatory ? will be heat loss from union cause condensation and phenomenal reduction in temperature.
