Hello all,

I am simulating a seat cover assembly process in ABAQUS 6.13.4. I have problems with assembling the seat cover as a single piece/model. So i have two pieces of seat covers that come from different directions and meet along an edge.

I have two such combinations. One meet each other at about 90 degrees and the other at about 30 degrees.

Both are of same material ( leather). I have modeled them as SHELL elements with about 5mm thickness.

Also both have the same no. of nodes at the same coordinate when they meet because i move the node sets individually to the same position through displacement driven boundary conditions.

Now my question is how to paste these nodes together?? (At the end of the simulation I don't want any displacement boundary conditions on these nodes. They should be free to move but together).

I have tried to give TIED contact between the nodes and also CONTACT PAIR with NO SEPARATION option. But in either cases the contact is not being established.

Kindly suggest if there are any others means of fixing two node sets together.
