Hello everyone,

I am relatively new to NX (using NX12) and I have a question regarding drawing views.

Is it possible to fix them so can not be moved by accident?

I'd like to fixate my base view so when I drag a projected view e.g. horizontally, I don't move the base view vertically by accident.

You can right click on the drawing view and delete the view associativity. This will keep the aligned views from moving when you move a view. Alternatively, there is a "move view" command that can limit the movement of a view to horizontal or vertical.

Oh well, Have to deal with it then.

Thank you for your answers!

@cowski: I will look into the "move view" command on monday, great suggestion! Deleting the view associativity is not an option for me, my brain would give me a hard time, knowing they could not be aligned :)

I know this has been discussed for a long time, I wonder if we will see this in the future.

With the view associativity turned off, the view you are moving will 'snap' into alignment to the closest view and then you can move it along a line - the process is similar to drawing horizontal/vertical lines in the sketcher. Turn off the view associativity and give it a try, you can always turn the view associativity back on if you don't like the process.

I prefer with the view associativity off. It's so simple to re-align by dragging a off-view there is no need for the associativity.
Also, the specific align -view commands will align any view in very few clicks.

Regards,
Tomas
