Hello

I am currently developing a FE code modeling wave propagation in solids. The code is being developed for certain kinds of geotech problems but I want to keep it general enough so that others can use it for different kind of problems.

The code currently supports (1) free (2) fixed and (3) absorbing boundaries.

I am not really sure if fixed BCs are ever needed in explicit dynamic analysis. It certainly is not in the kinds of geotech analysis I plan to do. So before I remove it (to save some memory) I just want to be sure that fixed BCs are not useful.

So can people think of problems where fixed BCs are useful for elastodynamic analysis.

Thanks
