Good morning Everyone,
I just wanted to double check that I'm not crazy.
Per API 1104 subpart 6.2.2 (F) A welder whom performs a welder qualification test in the fix position is also qualified for the rolled position. HOWEVER during production welding if the WPS to which they are welding to states "FIXED" position then he/she is only permitted to weld that production weld in the fixed position per the procedure qualification essential variables under 5.4.2.4?
For example during small bore pipeline welding operations if the client states rolling is permitted per 7.9.1 and their WPS states "FIXED" position than they would need a 2nd WPS which states "ROLLED" if they wanted to weld double joints on jack stands by rolling?
Thank you
