Indirectly related to NFPA, could somebody give a little insight on how the first responders react to lithium battery storage fire and possible thermal runaway?

If there is no deflagration venting and exhaust ventilation, and if the primary fire suppression system is a total flooding agent, how would first responders react? Would they wait for a few hours or will they immediately try to get into storage after the requirement of flooding is passes (10 mins or so)?

Would they benefit if there is a sensor of flammable gasses inside the module which sends information about the situation inside?

Call the FD and ask them. Is the FD volunteer or paid, how far from the site, average response time, typical number of personal responding,etc.Is this the 1st of this type in the response area or do they have many? Do they conduct pre-fire planning for sites? We can give you all the information but who comes when the alarms rings is who you got to call.

I am a volunteer firefighter and in charge of pre-fire planning for our 100% volunteer department. Our department runs 1500-1800 calls annually
