Flange to casing of OH2 API Pumps

Dear Friends,

I would like to know if someone knows where I can find the dimensions of a flange casing for OH2 API pumps. I have SULZER pumps OH2, model CAP8-80-290, CAP5-50 -350, CAP8-80-430 and a need to manufacture flange to casing, for when I take the rotor out of pump.

We refer to these as case blinds. When we remove a pump like this, we either have to blind both the suction and discharge flanges, or install a case blind over the open case. We were able to measure the OD and bolt pattern in the field and turn out the rough plate in advance. Our fixed equipment group defined the required thickness of the plate based on standard requirements for pipe flange blinds. We cut the step on the inside of the plate to fit the head gaskets that we had in our warehouse. We also have pump repair sheets from previous repairs that include the ID of the case bore and the OD of the head at the fit area. This is a standard check that our mechanics make to verify that the head to case fit is still within specifications.

It would have been easier if the pump manufacturers would have provided these dimensions. But, for obvious reasons, they are reluctant to give out any dimensions that might be used by non-OEM shops to produce parts for their pumps.

Hi Johnny, thank you for your information. Here we do the same, we measured the diameter of the holes and uses Class ASME pressure to the flange. However, believed that some colleagues had the dimensions. Sulzer offered me the flanges for the purchase, obviously, but we decided to make them ourselves.
