Hello

Can someone help me if there is any regulation that does not permit to use flanged connections into clean rooms? It is clear that not to be used for product lines or clean utilities lines, but for general utilities as chilled water or industrial waste.

Best Regards.

jcme7212,
I donot believe there is any regulation or law prohibiting the use of flange joints. However you do need to consider materials of construction in relation to;
How clean is the cleanroom you are setting up
Can they be cleaned and sanitised, exposed threads can be a problem
Do the materials tend to shed particles as they age.

You will find that using flanged pipes within the clean space will not meet the guidelines of cGMP. You cannot properly clean the small crevices between the gaskets and the flange face.
