Hello !

First time here. Sorry for my badly english but unfortunately i fogott a lot. i learned at school 100 years ago :)

My question is :

Is there any specification / rule / regulation existing (maybe in ASME VIII / ASME B16.5 / ASME 16.47 A-B)that bolt holes in the flanges have to be deflashed ?

Thanks for answering soon.

mikel,
I believe you refer to deburring of the bolt holes. If so, then indirectly, the ASME B16.5 and B16.47 have specific requirements for the flange facing flatness and the bolt hole back face requirements (refer to Clause 6.4 refevant to facing, 6.5 and 6.6). In other words, no burrs are allowed on flange face and back face. That is, the bolt holes must be deburred or machined to comply with flange facing and golt hole requirements.
Cheers,
