FLARE SYSTEM START-UP PURGE

Hi everyone

We are planning to start up a gas compression plant, and want to purge the vent pipe ( 1600 ft long aprox.), K.O.D and flare stack with raw gas.

The only place to monitor Oxygen concentration is a valve at connection for a manometer on the K.O.D. Could you please provide some advice about if this is a good place to monitor O2 concentration or there is a another common practice to purge and monitot this system.

Basically 3 volumes of gas at a decent velocity (> 1m/sec) will clear it.
