Hello,
I'm designing a pressure vessel acc. to ASME VIII Div.1, Mat. S.Steel.
This vessel has a shell from seamless pipe and welded at both ends 2 forged caps. These caps are externally flat, but inside they are emispherical.
I checked these heads acc. to UG-32 (Hemispherical heads formula).
Should I check also according to UG-34 flat heads formulas and fig. UG-34, e.g. detail b-2?
I suppose that UG-34 refers to flat head with constant thickness, but in my case thickness has a minimum (center) and a maximum (periphery) growing acc. to radius of the inside sphere...How should I interpret it?
