Flat pattern assistance 1

I have a Solidworks part that I would like some advice on how to flatten in Solidworks. Part file is attached. I've tried using the convert to sheet metal command and the rip command but am unable to create the necessary gaps for bending. This is in Solidworks 2017. Am I better off drawing the model using the Solidworks sheet metal tools?

I like using the convert-to-sheet-metal command in SolidWorks, although it is against policy where I am now working.

There is a rip function in SolidWorks, which I very rarely use. I just use the regular sketch and extruded cut to create my rips. It looks to me like you have a zero width rip. This is not fabricatable. They need to bend past your required angle to account for spring-back. Try making your rip 2mm or 4mm wide.

Take a look at Sigmanest. They can fold and unfold weldment style pieces. That's what it looks like you have (without downloading). We had them come out last year and do a demo at our UserGroup and it was impressive at what all their software would do.

Thank you Drafting Man for the model. It's pretty much what I needed. When looking at the model, why was the edge flange components in the feature tree suppressed?

Those were my first try doing it a different way, I should have deleted them before I posted the model.
