Flat pattern moves when master model is updated

Hi

One of our users, has a sheet metal part with a flat pattern that was created in the drafting that is exhibiting some strange behavior. If we edit the master model file, say perhaps by adding an extra hole, then go to the master mdoel drawing, then update the flat pattern and the drawing, the flat pattern moves which completely screws up all the drawing view. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?

Was there any WAVE linking involved in the creation of the model?

Could you test this (at least from the generation of the flat-pattern onward) in NX 7.5? Note that several issues have been addressed in the last couple of releases with respect to the creation of the flat solid (which is part of the internal workflow when creating the 2D wireframe flat-pattern).

We are very close to starting the pre-go-live testing for our global role out. We have just kicked off today with a whole raft of your UK colleagues taking up residence for the next 5 months. I will test this in 7.5 but as yet we have no test system. From what I have seen of native, it looks like the whole flat pattern workflow will change for us as the flat pattern command in NX4 is under Start-->All applications --> Sheet Metal --> Forming/Flattening, where as I can't find this path in 7.5 but there is now a useful flat pattern function directly within the sheetmetal application along with the flat solid tool.

When you get a chance, try to include this part in your testing as I suspect much has changed with respect to what might be effecting the observed behavior. And besides, responding to an NX 4.0 sheetmetal issue at this point would only be frustrating for ALL the parties involved ;-)
