Hello fellow NX users,

I have created a slightly curved surface (constant radius) to represent the dashboard of a car. I added thickness to this surface to make it look like a metal sheet and have cut a few holes and cutouts in it. Now the challenge is to create a flat pattern of this part so that it can be CNC cut. Is there a way to achieve this? I have checked out the wrap/unwrap feature but I really want to export the flat pattern to drafting, just as when exporting a flat pattern from the sheetmetal workbench. Is there a way to do this? I'm on 8.5 but have also access to 10.0 if that proves to be useful.

What version of NX are you on ?
Can you show a picture of it ?

When you say "Export to Drafting", are you referring to using the master model method where your model is a component in your drawing? If so, and the unwrap gives you what you want to see, you can still make this work. Its been a while since I used unwrap, but I think you can move that to a separate layer and then in your drawing, using Layer Visible in View, only turn on the layer that your flat pattern in on.
