Hi All,

Can someone tell me how to make a flat pattern out of the attached model?

I've made a lofted flange with the multi segment bends. It looks like this function is made for such a part i've made?

Kind regards,

Lars

OK,
A typical case that shows some of the limitations of the Lofted Flange feature.
One of the problems comes from the fact that the bend radii are not cylindrical faces anymore.
The other problem is that the flanges you want on each edge have a variable bend angle along its edge...
Just have a closer look at the bend's cross section going from the top of the cone to the bottom of the cone.

So I don't think you will be able to get a flat pattern with the standard flat pattern feature...
You will probably need "Flattening and Forming"

Or you cheat a little bit on the two sketches:
Add a little line between the ouside flange and the arc. Make sure that its length is bigger than the bend outside radius.
The remaining arc will have a smaller radius. It also needs to be tangential to the new added lines. If not, it will not work.

Frankbe thnx a lot.

I did know about the cheating but was hoping that such a great program as NX could solve it for me:)
