flatten to 0 plane

i was wondering if anyone knows of a function or command that allows you to flatten a drawing to 0 plane. I have had a number of drawings come to my desk that if you look at them from the side in autocad, that although they look lines up in plan, are actually at differnt heights on the Z axis. I want to make everything on one plane so that my object snaps work correctly. this way i don't need to adjust individual lines in the properties command.

If you have Autocad 2000 or newer, load the EXPRESS toolbar and use the MODIFY flyout to find the flatten objects command.

have a google search for FLATTEN.lsp ~ I think there are a few out there ~and most seem to work with varying degrees of success
I think it may even have been part of the bonus tools at some point
