Can a Dome/Bowl shape be flattened (via sheet metal functionality) using a standard SW Pro seat? This has been asked in the past (and the answer was no other than with third party software), but I wanted to make sure this was still the case with SW 2010. Needing a development from such geometry is an infrequent request that is usually solved/approximated manually. However, curiosity got the best of me and I have spent quite a bit of time searching for a solution or workaround using the SW provided sheet metal functionality. To this point, I have failed to find a method to do so.

retseirp,

Since you could not create a dome from flat stock without stretching it, what kind of functionality are you looking for? You could approximate a dome by creating a star and welding the limbs together and as the number of limbs on the star increase the approximation to a dome will get closer and closer, but that's just an approximation. If you describe your goal, we may be able to help you find different ways of achieving that goal.
