ASME Section XI deals with the inspection of nuclear components. It also details the repair / replacement activities based on unacceptable flaw detection. Does this flaw detection is on weld surfaces only. Such as the welding joints of a pipe or it covers the whole pipe surface for flow detection. If a flaw is detected on the external surface (OD) of pipe. Does the study of this flaw and subsequent repair is also governed by Section XI. If yes kindly inform about the relevant articles which explicitly clarified this issue.
