Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knows if you can get a flexible pto shaft I found one on a seed sprader during my search and I have included this site here just to give an idea what i'm talking about.

However I have not found much more information and i'm no expert by any means in this area. so any one who may know a bit on this, greatly appreciated.

regards.

I'd say a flexible shaft is more of a last resort, suitable mainly for very light loads. Typically used for higher speeds and lower torques - such as a Dremel Tool. Is there a chance you can deliver power through another means, say, electrical or hydraulic power?

I'm familiar with these. They are reliable and simple.

Gyroplane homebuilders love these for spinning up their rotor blades

Never seen them used on farm machinery but if you have a tractor with two sets of hydraulics already being used and the PTO there but can't drive with a conventional PTO shaft...definitely is a good option.

Check out the heavy duty ones on the bottom of the page:

The beastiest one [6426K94] at 950 in-lbs max, can deliver about 15 HP at 1000 RPM.

Depending on the loading of the seed spreader, that might do the trick. Try to minimize the bends, and use the maximum radius possible for any bends.
