Hi everyone,
Can anybody give me a little trick to calculate the flexural capacity of the outstanding leg of an angle bolted to a wall. The angle is there to support a an aluminum doorsill.

Thanks in advance everyone

Have a good one.

It's just plain bending of the plate of leg - minor axis bending of a rectangle.

Yes, and I would use an effective width equal to the bearing width plus the extra from a 45 degree line from each corner of the bearing plate or whatever transfers load to the angle. You can be conservative and take the bearing width only.
