Hi,
I have a Pin and box assembly in SolidWorks, which consists of two parts: 1) Box with ACME Thread; and, 2) Pin with ACME thread. I want to transfer the assembly to Abaqus. Both pin and box have the same thread type. I tried every possible file transfer to Abaqus to transfer the assembly,e.g. Step, IGS, Eaf, etc. The pin gets transferred easily but the box does not. In some file extensions the box transfer is flawed with several spiral cuts, instead of one cut, if you look into the section of it. In some other file type formats it gives dimensional error for the spiral thread. I checked the SW file and it is correct and does not have any issue. To verify, I saved the thread as STEP file from SW, and re-import the file into SW; there was not any issue; but, Abaqus can’t import it right.
I have attached the SW files to the post. Would you please help me how to transfer the part?
