How does that stack up compared to the rest of the world?

Rather than think climate change and the corona virus as science, think of it as the wrath of God. Feel any better?

Every waterworks in the country is required to produce an annual water quality report. Most are available on line. Here are some examples.
[ul]
[li]DC Water[/li]
[li]Flint Mi Water[/li]
[/ul]
The DC water quality report is typical of reports provided by well run waterworks.
The Flint Mi water quality site seems to focus only on lead - in great detail. I do not find the extended data on their site (did I miss it?).

Our local water supply co. (North East UK) say that lead in water supply is primarily due to some old buildings still having lead piping in the supply to the building still in use. As they ensure the water has hardness, the lead compounds are insoluble.
Amazingly (or maybe not so) they have on their website a list of dissolved salts especially for brewers! Way to go!

Politicians like to panic, they need activity. It is their substitute for achievement.

Newcastle Brown: pronounced

'Nookie Broon' of course.

The Flint water issue is still in the news as the civil trials are now getting underway, and the courts have ruled that Rick Snyder, the former Michigan Governor, must testify. Note that he's indicated that he'll probably refuse to answer questions and invoke his 5th Amendment rights instead:

Judge says former Michigan governor must testify in Flint water civil trial

Wiped out? By my read, it was remanded for a preliminary examination (whatever that is). Maybe the case will continue.

Listening to WJR on Wednesday, the Grand Jury was just a one-man Grand Jury and the defendants don't know what evidence was used for the Indictment. This is a simple violation of the rights of the accused.

I had no idea that there is such a thing as a one-man Grand Jury. Michigan is weird. No-fault insurance and one-person Grand Juries (Juror?).

Governments and their employees have to be identifiable and be held accountable for the actions of their jobs.

In this instance they're only interested in politicians who know nothing of water beyond taste.

That seems to be what we've become... sad...

This issue is still moving through the courts, at least it was supposed to be moving...

Jury Can't Reach Verdict In Engineers' Flint Water Trial

A judge has declared a mistrial in a dispute over partial liability for Flint, Michigan's lead-contaminated water.
