Float for transformer oil

We are currently building an oil containment pit, with sump, for some power transformers. I need to find a float that will not break down in mineral (transformer)oil. The float we used in previous designs appears to be inadequate as the cable tends to break down in the mineral oil. Does anybody know of any manufacturers of these? (Canada or United States).

Depending on importance of the process/knowing level, you might also consider capacitive, plastic-encased probe-type sensors that will sense oil and oil+rainwater.

Try doing an Internet search for sewage level switches. These are simple float type switches that should hold up pretty well.

I don't know about this, but maybe a diesel fuel sensor would work.
