We have as many licenses as users, but have a couple "extra" workstations. All license data is on the FlexLM server.

It seems I have to open the nx licensing tool on my workstation, release my license, then go to another workstation and add the license. As we don't have any extra licenses, I need to do this every time we have a design review in the conference room.

Whats the fix? And don't tell me its not a problem!

Are your seats all 'bundles'? And where are you going to to 'Release' your license? Is it 'License Option' tool or the 'Lmtools' accessed from the Windows 'Start' menu?

To an Engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

Not lmtools, the "License Options" program from the start menu, under NX5, NX Licensing Tools.

Yes, it appears they are all bundles (drafting, assemblies, etc):

P1 std. bundle
P2 std. bundle
P3 std. bundle plus moldwizard
P4 moldwizard
P5 moldwizard

Rather messy it seems.

OK, it should work. What you need to do is log off of NX on one on the stations that was using the bundle which you wish to use on the new station. Also the new station had to have already been set up to use that particular bundle, but if you simply logged off from the one station, that bundle should now be available for any other station that has been configured to access that same bundle without having to do anything else.

If this is how you're trying to do this but it still doesn't work as I've described it above, then you will need to contact GTAC and have them look more closely at the way you've set up the license server.

If I have the P2 bundle on my workstation, it cannot be added to the list on another. Even if NX is closed on my workstation. The "Add" button is disabled, but as soon as I remove it from the list on my workstation, the button is enabled.

I'll contact GTAC tomarrow.
