thread1-288922 Microsoft easing computer workers work load. I would add a constant that drops the pressure at the inlet. I think it should be proportional to kv^2 . Use a table for pipe friction. Maybe choose the flow to be turbulent because the inlet is at the length of the pipe. Or laminar and iterate with the pressure drop figured into the inlet. It takes about 32 psi to become sonic flow. The fluid starts at a lower velocity at the inlet, expands and excelerates. This size hole will keep a small compressor at 14 psi. About 5 cfm. So 5/(32.2x13.2) = 1/2 pound per minute.

it's called "coefficient of discharge" ...

5cfm thru a 0.04" dia hole is a airflow of about 10,000 ft/sec ... ???

I was going to look for orifice flow in the hartford steam boiler book, but couldn't find it.

This might be (should be) similar

15 psi for 1/32" (0.032") dia orifice ~.319 scfm
as above for 3/64" (0.046") dia orifice ~ 0.71 SCFM

I think 0.5 scfm would be about right
