My plumbing code lists 10 feet/sec as the maximum flow velocity in pipes for domestic water. I can't find a similar restriction in either the UFC or NFPA 24 for fire mains. Does anyone know if there is one?

Thanks,

NFPA 24 recommends a maximum velocity pressure of 10 PSIG. However, it is not a mandatory requirement because it is in the Annex, which contains recommendations rather than requirements.

stookeyfpe,

Thanks. I guess I missed it in NFPA 24. A star for you.
