voith recommends ISO VG 32 oils in their fluid couplings but we are using ISO 68 oils on all our fluid couplings. Ive tried to ask around why with no success but it seems that has been the status quo ever since. we are operating them in high temperature, 35deg celcius average ambient temperature region. Does such a high ambient temperature render an increase in oil viscosity for fluid coupling or i should just resort back to ISO 32 oils to avoid premature transmission components failure

Don't ask us; ask Voith.

Refer to Voith. 35C is not too high for ISO VG32. Voith may have other reasons to want VG32. VG68 may put fluid flow load/circulating load too high for Voith performance or operation specifications.
