Hi, there
I am modelling a two phase fluid flow/straight tube interaction. Using Finite element for the analysis I need to represent the forces of the fluid on the tube. Could you help?
Typically, there are 4 forces to consider any time you have fluid flowing inside a pipe.
1. Pressure force,
2. Fluid acceleration force (typically caused by piping area changes or density changes such as occur with two-phase flow),
3. Force due to change in fluid direction, such as around piping bends,
4. Friction force due to drag of fluid against pipe wall.
Typically, I comnsider these forces when dealing with 1-dimensinal pipe flow. Since you are considering two-phase flow, does that mean you are computing multi-dimensional flow? If this is the case, I will have to do some more thinking.
If you are intereted in any of the forces listed above, let me know and I can provide additional details.
