Fluid filled structure: Implicit transient *Dynamic analysis possible with ABaqus-Standard

Hi, my structure is a thin walled and closed container, completely filled with fluid. The system is loaded by a shock like base motion and the material stresses during that motion are to be determined. Is that possible with Abaqus/Standard? Which elements should I use for the fluid?

If the analysis is literally as simple as a fluid filled container loaded via base motions and you are only interested in the structural response (i.e. not interested in complex fluid behavior), I would treat the fluid as an acoustic fluid and use AC3D8 elements for your fluid mesh. This can be done in Abaqus Standard.

You could use CEL or SPH for that but both techniques are available only in Abaqus/Explicit.

Sounds great. If the AC3D8 can do the job, provide inertia and incompressibility in a *DYNAMIC A/Standard analysis, then your approach is perfect for me. Thanks for now
 
"Acoustic" fluid assumes incompressibility by definition. If you want to include compressibility effects, you would use other methods. Sounds like acoustic is the way you want to go.
