Hi all,

Tank construction team is going to remove scaffolding from inside of the kerosene storage tank. But we dont know whose scope IS TO INSTALL FOAM CHAMBER ?
Is that instrument team job? Or should construction team install themselves?

The responsibility would be a contractual issue. That said, we normally assume the tank crew installs, along with pipe supports on the shell.
Note that some of the foam chamber details use a split deflector and a studded bolt ring and should allow installation from outside the tank.

My experience has been:

The foam chamber flanged nozzles were considered in the original design and were therefore included by the tank fabricator. Supporting locations for the foam piping was also supposed to be considered in a new tank.

Foam chambers are installed outside of the shell

The foaming devices, attached to the nozzles, the foam piping and any and all components required to make a complete system is the responsibility of the Fire Protection contractor

How about the heat detection devices located within the tank ? .... Have these been considered ?

Installation of heat detection devices would require interior scaffolding ..... IMHO
