follow up question to "create a point on a curve"

There may be another way, but it leads to another question:
If I could find the distance along the curve from its end to the first point, I could create the new point at a distance taking into account the first distance.

But the analysis function only seems to give me the length of the curve. Is there a way to find the distance along the curve to a point on it?

You could make a copy of the first curve, trim it to the point, then measure that.
