How is the font mapping controlled in the CGM export/import in NX3? We are exporting using NX fonts selected, but when the CGM is brought back in the font sometimes changes. For instance RomanS font is brought back in as Arial. Also If we use 4 CALS selected as the font export, the CGM that is brought back in is Script instead of RomanS.
The reason I need to know this is sometimes a dwg is created for vendors and out laser programming and we need the font to be correct.
If there is any knowledge on how to create a file for our laser (Scriba software) straight from UG, that would be greatly appreciated as well.
Thanks again

If you want to be 100% sure don't map CGM to fonts then. Set the text to polylines option when you export and it should just come out as curves, (lots of them).

Is there a way to see how/where the fonts are mapped? We would like to keep them as text, just in case we have to change something.

Well if you do go down that path make sure that you look at whether the aspect ratio settings are also mapped. Which is to say that where I had the most trouble was that I would use even a quite simple font, but adjust the aspect ratio setting to say 0.7 so that the letters are narrower and more text fits per line. Especially when this was in a drawing format title block you will know right away if it isn't working properly because it will usually be wider and therefore outside the boxes etc...

That in combination with your earlier observation is why I decided to not bother. In my case I reckon that if I can alter it in NX for a momentary effort and outputting a new CGM is no bother either then it suits me to not have it altered elsewhere as there is only one original source to keep track of.
