Hi,
Can anyone suggest a professional looking font to use on drawings other than "font" - which is standard with Pro/E.
I have previewed some of the true type fonts through the "edit text style" command. I cannot however, access any of these fonts through the "Drawing Set-up" window. Any advice?

Hi ttx,

Here is the trick. Put the true types fonts you want to use in the \text directory under your PRO/E folder (i.e: D:\PROENG\PROE2000i\TEXT)

For 2000i:

In drawing mode, go to ADVANCED->DRAW SETUP->MODIFY VAL->search the fonts section. You will find something similar with this:

default_font font
aux_font 1 filled
aux_font 2 leroy
aux_font 3 cal_alf
aux_font 4 cal_grek

Add your font at the end, like this:

aux_font 5 arial

Save and return to your drawing. From MODIFY->TEXT->TEXT STYLE-> select your text. Now, you'll be able to select the arial true type font.

Good luck!

Hello Hora,
As soon as I saw your reply - I knew that I was missing something. We are using 2001. In the draw set-up menu, Pro/E does not display the "aux_font" options beneath "default_font". I suppose that this is either something to do with 2001 or, the build that we are using. It is also possible that I am not understanding your instructions - although, well written.
Thanks for your efforts,

Hi JW (ttx)

I verified also in 2001. We're not using here 2001. Big company, big inertia! I have it on my computer but only for toolkit aplications I develop.

Now, back to your problem. You're right there are no more aux font under the DRAW SETUP file like in 2000i. So far, so good.

The solution is very simple. Copy your desired true-type fonts under \text folder and restart PRO/E.

Thanks Hora,
That worked-no problem.
This is just another thing that PTC could have easily explained in a sentence or two in their PDF help documentation.
Thanks much,

JW
