Hello All ,

So I took an exam recently that asked the questiion

Q What is the tolerance of the concrete for a footing as far as the width . It gave I believe 1/2 " , 3/8", 1% and a couple of others.
Not asking for the answer, as I would like to review this. The test referenced ACI 318 and 301 . I don't recall ever seeing this in either one of those books. Can someone point me in the direction of the section that may be in ?
Thanks for the help

ACI 117 covers tolerances (look at section 3.5). Most other references (in 301 & 318) have been moved to 117.

Could the question have been asking you to calculate how much eccentricity the footing could withstand for a given load without overstressing the soil matrix?
