An assiciate has asked me what the area might be required for one each very large combined cycle gas turbine generator setup, i.e., what its footprint might be. He wants a figure for the largest GT-C unit available. I have seen 300 and 500 MW units described on the Web but since I very seldom (if ever) venture above 30 MW, I have no idea how to advise him. All I can guess is "big" but the question is "how big" would the footprint be for the major elements and auxiliaries?

Any help would be appreciated for his research project.

Dear COD,
some indicative dimensions for a CC composed by a 280MW GTG and 140MW STG:

Step up transformer (GTG) = 17.5m x 15m
GTG = 10m x 15m
GT = 17.5m x 15m
HRSG = 22.5m x 50m
ST = 15m x 25m
STG = 15m x 12.5m
Step up transformer (STG) = 17.5m x 15m

+ HV substation
