Force-constrain a parallel dimension?

Hello,

Is there a way to constrain dimensions in sketcher to specific geometry?

The blue dimension in the attached image is what I want to achieve. The blue dimension should be parallel to one of the sketch lines.

Hi CNSU,
There was an enhancement done for this in NX7.5 but that was for drafting (i am not sure if you can achieve it in sketch also).

I checked with the drafting application, and sure enough, there is a button labeled "Direction" in the Edit Dimension dialog where you can define the direction of the dimension. This is exactly what I need in the Sketching environment, but when I switch to that environment the Direction button is missing from the Edit Dimension dialog.

By the way why don't you try perpendicular dimension then for the time being...please find the image attached herewith.

Draw some reference lines and dimension those. See image attached, green are reference lines.

NX 7.5.5.4 with Teamcenter 8 on win7 64

Yes, I guess adding reference lines to help with adding correct dimensions is a doable workaround.
