Hello All,

I am trying to run a simple simulation on an aluminium part bearing the weight of 54newtons on a single flat face.

I have my materials correct, and my fixtures are fine. Yet no matter what values I give to the force being applied, or the type of material used I get the same result from the simulation.

I have applying only 0.001newtons of force and I am still seeing vast amounts of deformation where there should be none.

This image shows the part made from pure titanium, with a minute for being applied.

Anyone got any ideas as to why I am seeing such defomration?

Many Thanks

SolidWorks does a linear scaling of the deformed shape so that the user will be able to visually see it. If you want to compare the displacements between different materials and loads, you need to look at a displacement fringe plot and see what the maximum displacement value is on the legend (you're image shows von-Mises stress).
