forging flow line versus grain direction

If a aluminum forging drawing showing a grain direction would you look for grain direction only or forging flow plus grain direction? If you see grain direction correct, you still check grain flow, because I am having difficulty seeing flow lines with macro or micro etch but grain are correct direction.

Yes after macroetching you should check for grain flow in addition to grain orientation. Grain orientation can be caused from other metal working methods.
