Hi, I need the formules to verify pressure and thicknes for:
firebox type fox, in a firetube boiler, and for flat heads (where is the firetube inserted). I had used t=d*(C*P/S)0.5 but i am not sure with d
thanks

You should probably check with an actual boiler company and get an inspection performed. Boilers are not something you want to play around with.

vidalf,
To operate a boiler you need more than to verify the pressure vs. thickness. A boiler can be a very serius problem if it is not operated properly.

First: look for the nameplate, if you find it you will have a starting point.
Second: look for the technical documents and check if they match.
Third: check the applicable codes and operation licence

During this process you will probably find enough information about your Boiler and its capabilities.

Vidalf....

Perhaps you have a structural background.....?

Would you ask a group of structural engineers for "the building formula" that would size all beams, columns, baseplates, foundations etc...??

Of course not..... seasoned engineers know that there are subtle and substantial issues involved in the engineering of complex structures and systems.

Boiler design is also somewat unique because there are particular design "tricks" that are only learned by experience and are not shared with others
