Hi,
On board of my ship we have 5 L.O. separators of Wesfalia.
Although they are self de-sludging, several of the 5 are fouling up very quickly.
One even only keeps up for 3 days before she starts shaking and we need to clean it again by hand.
We tried several things: change interval between de-sludging cycles, more filling water, 2 de-sludge cycles after each other, etc.
Is it the age of the separator, or are there other things going on?

Thanks,

Slofke

you sure you overhauled it completely?
especially take care of the waterchamber (which is on the bottom of the bowl)
check if they amps of motor go up, when you flush the bowl

well, we overhaul it completely every time again. also the water chamber ,slide, disk stack and the rest. new o-rings

but for some reason she fouls every 3 days.

did you check the amps (they should jump up when the bowl opens),check with amp clampmeter when you manually flush the bowl. For oil sump service, you should be able to run 3 or 4 months, without intervention (auto desludge @ 4h)
check also water supply line for cloggage
what's the temperature,you're running on?
